For school district IT teams, the line between cybersecurity and safety is blurred.
More school data is created and stored in the cloud, which must also be monitored and secured. At the same time, students are spending more time in cloud applications provided by schools, but not always for school purposes.
School cybersecurity and safety strategies continue to overlook monitoring the activity of students, teachers, and staff inside of Google Workspace and Microsoft 365. Even as most of the cybersecurity, safety, and data privacy incidents experienced by schools today occur within them.
During this session, attendees will learn how the growing use of cloud apps in K-12 schools blurs the lines between cybersecurity, safety, and data privacy for IT teams.
Panelists Diana Gill, the Director of Technology at East Porter County School Corporation, and Cody Walker, the Technology Director at West Rusk CCISD, will share how the three areas overlap in their school districts.
