K-12 Cybersecurity & Safety Leadership Series

Back to School in the Year of COVID-19: Trends & Lessons Learned

Spring 2020 introduced a variety of unique challenges to K-12 school districts that made the shift to remote learning due to COVID-19 building closures. During the past summer break, districts prepared for the shifting needs and conflicting plans for the 2020-21 school year.

According to our 2020 Remote Learning Security Poll Results, over 60% of school districts were planning for some level of hybrid learning this school year and 32% were undecided or not sure as of July. This means the job of today’s K-12 IT leader and administrator continues to expand as learning environments disperse.

Now that the 2020-21 school year is upon us, we’re talking with a panel of IT leaders and system admins to learn how their teams worked to adapt to the changes, what lessons they’ve learned, and their plans moving forward.
